Athletics and recreation
Northeast Coastal University sponsors recreational and intramural athletics designed to fit the schedules of working adults and online learners. Participation is voluntary, free, and open to every enrolled student.
Intramural basketball
Fall and spring, six weeks each · On campus
Co-recreational leagues played at a partner facility near the Jacksonville campus. Teams are formed at the start of each season; no prior experience is required.
Coastal running club
Year round · On campus and remote
Weekend group runs along the St. Johns River, with a logged-mileage option so students studying at a distance can participate in the same seasonal goals.
Recreational soccer
Spring · On campus
Casual weekend matches organized by students with a staff adviser present. Pick-up format with rotating sides rather than fixed rosters.
Virtual fitness challenge
Every term · Remote
Term-long step and activity challenge tracked online and open to every enrolled student, wherever they live.
Open gym and fitness hours
Weekly during terms · On campus
Reserved hours at the partner facility for informal training, conditioning, and drop-in play.
Kayaking and paddle outings
Fall and spring, weather permitting · On campus
Guided outings on nearby waterways led by student organizers, with equipment rented through a local outfitter.

Participation is open to any student enrolled in the current term and in good academic standing.

3. Complete the waiver
A one-time activity waiver is signed electronically before your first session.
4. Show up
Season schedules and meeting points are posted in POPULI at the start of each term.

Not an intercollegiate athletics program
Northeast Coastal University does not sponsor intercollegiate athletics and is not a member of the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, or any athletic conference. No athletic scholarships, stipends, or recruitment offers are made, and athletic participation carries no academic credit.
